ZUCCHINI CHIPS WITH TAMARI AND SESAME SEEDS
Β Serves: 2 | Prep time: 10 minutes | Bake time: approx. 1.5 hours
INGREDIENTS
1 zucchini at room temperature
1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
1 tablespoon tamari
2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
2 tablespoons black sesame seeds
1 teaspoon nori flakes
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat your oven to 90Β°C (fan) and line two baking trays with baking paper.
- Using a mandoline, slice zucchini thinly.
- In a small bowl combine sesame seeds and nori flakes.
- Place slices zucchini in a large bowl pour over oil and tamari, tossing zucchini slices gently to ensure they are evenly coated.
- Arrange zucchini slices on trays making sure they do not overlap.Β Sprinkle a little of the sesame seed mix over each slice.
Bake at 90Β°C (fan) for 1 hour. Remove trays from oven and very carefully flip each zucchini chip. Place rotated trays back in oven for around 20-40 minutes (as all ovens are different, do check the progress of your chips).
Remove trays from oven.
*These chips are best eaten freshly made, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

What a great idea. Wonder if it would work with cucumbers?
Marisa @missmarzipan.com says
Thank you! Oh, I really don’t know! I would be inclined to not bake cucumber slices, but rather have a bowl of fresh slices, a small bowl of tamari and a small bowl of sesame seeds and do a dip and sprinkle type of thing with them. I think it would be super yummy! And very quick too π x
Gallivanta says
Yes, that would be yummy. π

this looks so simple yet so delish! Tamari would add such a great taste.

Thank you so much! Very kind x
I think it works well… there’s something nice about the savoury saltiness combined with the toasty sesame seeds π

I adore zucchini chips… in my neighborhood, there are a lot of Greek restaurants and they make some delicious zucchini chips, but always fried! These look incredible – I have to try them myself at home in the oven to excuse my addiction π Beautiful, darling!
Marisa @missmarzipan.com says
Hello lovely! Oh, I quite like the sound of those fried chips π π but I am pretty sure these might make for a more sustainable, everyday kinda snack! <3

This is a great recipe for those of us not into the spiraling zucchini craze – could I omit or substitute the tamari?
Marisa @missmarzipan.com says
Hi lovely! You sure could. If you don’t like tamari, you could simply sprinkle a little salt over them. Or if you wanted to do a salt and vinegar version, sub the tamari with 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar (and omit the sesame seeds) π xx
Laura @ Feast Wisely says
Great tip Marisa – apple cider vinegar it is!
Marisa @missmarzipan.com says
I hope it works! π xx
