3 AWARD NOMINATIONS & 200 FOLLOWS TODAY (AKA very grateful… and surprised!)

There must be something in the air/water right now. Whatever it is, however, it is nice! It is interesting that I have been doing the Chopra Center 21-Day Meditation Challenge™, Creating Abundance, and now it seems like the floodgates of abundance are indeed opening… in many areas of my life. Take my life on WordPress right now, for example. In the space of around 12 hours, I have received 3 blog award nominations and the notification that I have over 200 followers. I have done very little to promote my blog. In fact, there are only 4 people who I know in “real life” who have subscribed to my blog, because I have deliberately decided to keep my blog-writing a secret (I like the anonymity). I have never shared anything about my blog on Facebook and I don’t have a Twitter account. When I picked up blog-writing again after being released from bed rest due to a high risk pregnancy diagnosis, I had maybe 6 followers (and I was happy with that). This was about one month ago. Needless to say, I am very grateful not only for the support I have received in this short time and the fact that anyone out there is interested in my blog, but also for the opportunity to connect with other bloggers whose posts I find interesting, informative and inspiring! So if we have connected here, thank you :)! It really is an honour to have my little blog recognised by other fabulous bloggers.

  1. Who is your favorite philosopher? I cannot, in all honesty, say that I have a favourite philosopher, though there are philosophies that I live by. The maxim “know thyself” has been attributed to many wise Ancient Greeks, but I suppose “whoever came up with that one” will suffice for an answer to this question 😉
  2. What is your favorite number? 23
  3. What is your favorite animal? Rabbit
  4. What is your favorite time of day? It depends on what I am doing but usually early morning or late evening.
  5. What are your Facebook and Twitter? I don’t link any social media to my blog.
  6. What is your favorite holiday? I love Halloween. I also love Christmas… and a little-known celebration that occurs here pre-Christmas called “Lucia”. If I lived in America, I bet I’d be crazy about Thanksgiving (I am even hosting my own Thanksgiving-inspired afternoon for friends this weekend!). I am very much into celebrating occasions!
  7. What is your physical favorite activity? Dancing
  8. What is your favorite non-alcoholic drink? Some kind of juice or smoothie… or perhaps a frappuccino (which we can’t buy here, darn it!)
  9. What is your passion? Put simply, living, loving, creating and exploring!
  10. What is your favorite flower? I love wild flowers and sunflowers

  16. Congratulations! I remember the moment I realized that I wasn’t just writing for my family anymore and I had such a hard time believing people wanted to read my recipes! I did almost nothing to promote my blog in the beginning and…how do people find us?!? lol… so fun for you!!

And thank you 🙂 Basically you just have to copy and paste the relevant part of my post to a new blog post, then think of a few blogs you’d like to nominate in return to create your own list. If it’s too much work to do all of that, just post what you want about it (I’m not obsessed with all the rules of these awards). One thing to think about is that nominating other blogs will drive more traffic to your site, so it is a way of getting your message out there. But of course, only do what you are comfortable with/have time for- no stress 🙂 x
