It feels like it’s been a ridiculously long time ago since I posted. Of course it hasn’t really… it’s just that I have been doing so many little Project Pinterest tasks over the past week, I have not had time to write about any of them. So here’s my attempt at a starting place! 5 days to go until my blessingway/baby shower and so far, so good… everything is on track. After creating my mood board last week, I had a clear idea of what I needed to get in order to prepare everything. My very generous dad accompanied me on shopping excursions to the crafting store and supermarket (offering also to pay for all the supplies!) and, since last Wednesday, I have been crafting/baking/planning like crazy. More to come on individual projects… but for now, here’s where they all began…
So far I have:
Made and embellished fondant flowers and butterflies
Made vegan buttercream frosting
Baked the perfect, moist chocolate cupcakes (for testing)
Baked dairy/lactose-free, gluten-free, refined sugar-free vanilla cupcakes (for testing)
Made Nutella buttercream frosting
Designed blessingway stationary for games and so on
Planned the menu and activities
Bought the favours
Made butterfly and daisy confetti
Made paper flowers
Made 2 different sorts of mini quiches (for testing)
Made cheese biscuits using the off-cuts of puff pastry from the quiches (that was a spur of the moment thing!)
Planned a schedule for the event and sent it to my mother-in-law (who is hosting)
And for Operation Advent- a prelude to Christmas, I have done the following:
Put up Christmas decorations
Made two types of chocolate crackles for the baby Christmas party last Friday
Bought a Santa hat for L
Used the cupcakes and frosting (made as testers for the blessingway) to hold a cupcake decorating activity at a Christmas party with friends last Saturday
Bought an advent calendar for L
Done a little prep/helping out with my in-laws big advent party last Sunday (cupcakes and crackles already made 🙂 )
Lit the first advent candle on Sunday
Made yeast free pizza bases (for testing) in preparation for the crafting night at the local library tomorrow, before which a couple of the girls will be coming over for pizza
Started to make my Christmas card list
… phew!
Oh, and I’d like to thank all those who’ve been stopping by recently with kind words and award nominations… I am sorry I have not had a chance to really check them out yet, but please know that your support is much appreciated 🙂

Oh, thank you so much! My intention is to host a small event that not only celebrates my pregnancy but also thanks some people in my life for all of the support I have had on my motherhood journey… and especially during this pregnancy 🙂

I need to make a list…..bravo. PS, I like the butterflies sewn together in a chain on your mood board.

Oh, lists and mood boards help me tremendously! I love mood boards because I am a very visual person (and I use them a lot at work)… I create boards on Pinterest that are kind of a visual to-do lists for me. I like those butterflies too, btw. Not sure if I’ll do exactly the same… we’ll see how the rest of the week pans out 🙂 x

mmmarzipan says
… Or a busy big thing 😉 (31 weeks pregnant now… woohoo :D) x
motherhoodisanart says
Oh my goodness! That is amazing that you are doing all of that at 31 weeks! I’m pretty sure I had resigned myself to the couch with all three of mine by that time!!

Ah, the “trick” is that I was on bedrest for about 10 weeks after being hospitalised due to SCH. At this point in my last pregnancy I was feeling very uncomfortable, but this time around, not half as much… and since doctors have now given me the all-clear for activity (albeit at a gentle pace), I feel so great. It’s almost like I am getting another go at my second trimester, but in my third trimester 🙂 I truly think that if I’d had an uneventful pregnancy, I wouldn’t be so motivated to make the most of the time that’s left/celebrate it. But it’s been such a lonnng road to get to this point… and it really does feel great to be able to celebrate 🙂
motherhoodisanart says
Oh boy, I bet 10 weeks of bed rest did make you a little antsy and ready to take on the world when you got the all-clear! I’m glad to hear you’re doing better and everything is going so smooth!
mmmarzipan says
Thank you so much 🙂 Very sweet of you! Yes, they say that the 2nd trimester is usually the best part of the pregnancy, but for me it was quite challenging. I wouldn’t change a thing though for the chance to have this baby. I am very grateful for the whole experience (bumps in the road and all)… but it is wonderful to be up and about a bit again 🙂 xx
