VERY INSPIRING BLOGGER AWARD (AKA happy dancing on the inside)

I woke up today to a notification that Live Blissful (one of my favourite blogs!) had nominated me for a Very Inspiring Blogger Award. I am incredibly grateful for this (thank you!) for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that I truly only started blogging with gusto a month ago… and that was literally a day or so after having 3 hospital appointments in one day (monitoring due to high risk pregnancy) and being given “clearance” to go off bed rest after weeks of virtual isolation! I am rather surprised that, in this short space of time, close to 150 other bloggers have found my blog at all… let alone found it interesting enough to follow ;). Needless to say, I am touched. But moreover, inspired! I am so grateful to have come across the blogs of others; from blogs about women who have faced/overcome great losses and challenges, to those advocating the welfare of animals/children, to those that seem to induce cravings for amazing food at seriously inappropriate times of the night! If we have connected here, then I am glad to have met you! And if I haven’t come across your blog yet, I hope to… thanks for finding me 🙂

Below are the rules for the Very Inspiring Blog Award so please follow carefully:

  1. Display the award logo on your blog.
  2. Link back to the person who nominated you.
  3. State 7 things about yourself.
  4. Nominate 15 other bloggers for this award and link to them.
  5. Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the award’s requirements

There is nothing that I cherish more than the gifts of life and motherhood.

I was born in the Chinese Year of the Dragon, as was my grandmother and my father. My baby is also due in the Dragon’s year!

My husband is the kindest and most patient man I know.

I love to travel and have had many adventures prior to settling into a life of “domestic bliss”… and quite a few since (eg, my husband proposed to me while we were staying in a ger camp with nomads in Mongolia).

I am a big fan of make-up and for a short time in my late teens I went to beauty school, aspiring to be a make-up artist.

I love living in Europe, but I wish the Scandinavian winter only lasted through December… and that we were a little closer to Paris/London/Venice/Amsterdam/Vienna/Berlin… oh, and Australia! Too much to ask? 😉

I respect and admire anyone who wants to make a positive impact on the world and I hope to be one of them in my own small way.

    • Thanks so much Christine! Yours was one of the very-recently-stumbled-upon blogs that I wished I’d been able to include in this list! If someone is ever sweet enough to nominate me for something again, you will be on that list, no doubt. Thank you very much for your kind encouragement 🙂

  2. Thank you so much for the nomination! Since I’m so new to blogging as well, this is first for me! I’ll get busy and make my list of 15 nominations (and also have fun visiting all of your 15 sites)… it was SO FUN to read the seven things about you too! Thanks again and have a great day!

    • You are so welcome :)! I started panicking a little making my list! Lol! I don’t really know how these things work and there are lots of people who have inspired me on WP. But essentially I chose blogs whose writers I have a fair bit of contact with and whose stories have inspired me… and those who have “stuck with me”/encouraged me throughout the short time I have really been active here. Can’t wait to see your list and read your 7 things too! 🙂

    • Thank you so much, Kenley! Very sweet 🙂 I know I was referred to your blog when someone recommended it and featured you in a post. The kudos they gave you was well deserved too! x
